History

1967
Founding of the Lyceum of Aparri. Msgr. Diosdado A. Talamayan, D.D. was appointed first rector. Rev. Fr. Gregorio Pagulayan was first registrar comptroller. The following courses were offered during the school's first year operation: Complete Four-Year Secondary Course, First Year Liberal Arts, and Bachelor of Science in Commerce.
1969
Msgr. Talamayan left for his post-graduate studies in Teacher Eduction at the Columbia University, New York. Rev. Fr. Vicente L. Catral and Rev. Fr. Jose Aquino were appointed Acting Rector and Comptroller, respectively. Shortly after, Rev. Fr. Quintin Garcia and Rev. Arnulfo Ventura took over as Rector and Comptroller. Permits for the Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education were obtained.
1970
Msgr. Talamayan reassumed his post as head of the school with the title of President.
1971
Permits for complete Elementary Course and Associate in Secretarial Course were obtained.
1972
The ROTC Department was recognized as a separate unit. Grade School was recognized. Full recognition of Secondary Education, Liberal Arts and Bachelor of Science in Commerce programs was granted. Permits for Master of Arts in Education. Two-Year course in Accounting Aide, Two-Year Course in Junior Secretarial, One-Year General Clerical Course, and One-Year Bookkeeping were obtained. The Fransiscan Apostolic Sisters were assigned to take care of the offices of the Registrar and the Treasurer. Permit to offer Engineering program was granted.
1974
Permits for one-year Electonic Servicemen for Radio Receivers, six-month Tailoring and Dressmaking were acquired.
1976
Evening session in the secondary level was opened for working students.
1979
The Science Curriculum of the High School was granted recognition status.
1980
The Lyceum of Aparri Hospital was opened to serve the needs of midwifery students and the community.
1982
Government recognition was granted to the Two-Year Course in Midwifery.
1985
The Three Associate in Geodetic Engineering and the Five-Year Course in Civil Engineering were offered.
1986
Rev.Fr. Ranhilio C.Aquino took over as first Executive Vice Prseident. Lyceum of Aparri Priestly Institute was established.
1987
The School was granted Level 1 Accreditation by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities (PACUCOA)
1988
The Level I Accreditation Status was elevated to Level II.
1990
Government recognition was granted to the Bachelor of Science in Secretarial Administration.
1991
The school was further re-accredited with the same status. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing was granted authority to operate.
1992
Recognition was granted the BS Accountancy Course.
1993
Msgr. Juan S. Quinto took over as the Second Executive Vice President. Rev. Fr. Joel M. Reyes was appointes Vice President for Finance, Rector of the Thomas Aquinas Major Seminary (formerly Lyceum of Aparri Priestly Institute) and Administrator of the Lyceum of Aparri Hospital Permits to operate the following courses were grantes: BS in Marine Engineering; BS in Physical Therapy; and Ph.D. in Educational Management.
1995
Rev. Fr. Joel M. Reyes assumed leadership of the school as Acting Executive Vice President.
1996
Premits to operate BS Computer Science, Associate in Computer Secretarial course were granted.
1999
Rev. Fr. Joel M. Reyes was appointed full-fledged Executive Vice President.
2000
Permits were granted to the following programs: Pre-School and BS Computer Engineering.
2001
The CHED-RO2 has granted authority to offer BS in Hotel and Restaurant Management.
2002
A new Hospital Building was constructed as base hospital for College of Health students. The Liberal Arts, Commerce and Bachelor of Secondary Education programs were granted Level II Third Re-Accreditation status
2003
The School started its TESDA Acrredited Caregiving Course.
2005
Rev. Fr. Joel M. Reyes was re-appointed Executive Vice President
2006
The San Lorenzo Ruiz Church and the Thomas Aquinas Major Seminary were inaugurated. Purchase and provision of equipment for the Lyceum of Aparri Printing Office. BS in Hotel and Restaurant Management program was granted recognition.
2007
The new Basic Education Building was Inaugurated to replace the old building which has become inadequate to satisfy the needs of its growing population.
2008
The three-storey Mr. Henry and Felicidad Sy Building-Central Library was inaugurated. Other developments that took place: 1) transfer of the Audio-Visual Room (AVR) to the old library building; 2) upgrading of the internet facilities with the provision of state-of-the-art computer units; and opening of the school canteen. Initial permits were granted for the following programs: Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT); Bachelor of Science in Public Administration (BSPA); Bachelor of Science in Library and Information Science (BLIS), and; Bachelor in Secondary Education with specialization in Religious Education. Grant of Level III Fourth Re-Accreditation of LACOMED programs. Application for the ETEEAP. Request for Institutional Development Assistance for Accreditaion Evaluation of the following programs subject for level I Accreditation: 1) BS Nursing; 2) BS Criminology; 3) BS Computer Science; and 4) High School Department
2009
Grant of Candidate Status by PACUCOA for BS Nursing, BS Computer Science, BS Criminology and the High School Department. Opening of Special Programs for the Arts in the High School Department (Visual Arts, Drama, Theater Arts, Dance and Spanish Language). Operationalization of the TESDA/ PGMA Short-Term Courses in: 1) Housekeeping; 2) Food and Beverage Service; 3) Barista; 4) Health Services; and 5) Security Services Pre-school Program Recognition was granted Preparation for Application Documents for Grant of the University Level.
2010
Preparation for the Level I Formal Visit of the Nursing, Computer Science, Criminology, and High School Programs. Conduct of Intensive and Extensive Formation Program of teaching and non-teachnign personnel. Lyceum of Aparri earned the distinction as the first and the only school in the region to have been granted Third Level Accredited Status by the PACU-COA.
2011
Grant of Level I Accredirted Status of the Nursing, Computer Science, Criminology, and High School Programs. Lyceum of aparri earned the distinction as having the most number of accredited programs by PACUCOA in Region II. Conduct of Strategic Planning training and workshop.
2012
Publication of the Strategic Plan of the Lyceum of Aparri for 2012-2016.
2013
Installation of Most Rev. Sergio L. Utleg,DD as the Second President of the Lyceum of Aparri. The Master of Arts in Philosophy was granted recognition status by the CHED Technical Committee for Philosophy; thus, making Lyceum of Aparri the Center of Philosophy in the Region.
2014
Level 3 Accreditation Visit of the College of Liberal Arts, Commerce and Secondary Education Programs.
2015
Level II Accreditation Status was granted to the Criminology, Nursing, Computer Science and High School Programs.
2016
The Liberal Arts, Commerce and Bachelor of Secondary Education LACOMED was granted Level IV Accredited Status.
2017
Level III Accredited Status was granted to the Criminology, Nursing, Computer Science and Junior High School Programs.
2018
Lyceum of Aprri was recognized as Assessment Center for both Caregiving and Health Care Service by TESDA.
2020
Most Rev. Ricardo L. Baccay, D.D. became 3rd President of the Lyceum of Aparri. Blessing of the additional 3rd floor of the Basic Education Building.
2021
The school was visited via Remote Virtual Accrediation for the Level III Re-Accreditation of its Criminology, Nursing, Computer Science and Junior High School Programs. Level III Re-Accredited Status was granted to Criminology, Computer Science, Nursing and Junior High School.
2023
Level 4 First Re-Accredited status was granted to LACOMED programs.
2024
Installation of Rev. Fr. Joel M. Reyes as the fourth President of the Lyceum of Aparri. Blessing of the 10-unit Housing Project for Employees.
