THE BS NURSING PROGRAM of Lyceum of Aparri aims to prepare the students to become nurses, who, upon completion of the program, demonstrates beginning professional competencies and shall continue to assume responsibility for professional development and utilizes research findings in the practice of the profession. It aims to develop a professional nurse who is able to assume entry level positions in health facilities or community settings. It aligns its approach with the pertinent provisions of the Republic Act No. 8292, otherwise known as The Higher Education Modernization Act of 1997. This is to give motivation towards achieving the main goal of the College of Health to modestly provide relevant and quality health services not only locally, but to the whole world by producing competent nurses. The graduates of the BS Nursing program are not only educationally prepared, competent and value– oriented but are also globally competitive.
The Free Eye Cataract Surgery Medical Mission of the Lyceum of Aparri hospital stood today as a powerful reminder that healing is a gift meant to be shared. Standing beside this mission were the 3rd year nursing students— quietly yet wholeheartedly doing their part. From taking vital signs, gathering patient data, and guiding clients through the Snellen chart, they became the steady hands behind every step of care. It was a mission built not only to restore sight, but a lifeline to restore hope, dignity, and the joy of seeing the world clearly once again.
Senior Nghtingale Students spearheaded a Campaign against Vaping Smoking last December 5, 2025 at the Audio-Visual-Room, featuring Dr. Casser John D. Aguinaldo, MD. as Guest Speaker Driven by their commitment to health advocacy, the senior Nightingales organized a Health Advocacy Campaign Seminar themed “Air In, Puff Out: Public Health Seminar and Advocacy Campaign on the Risks of Vaping and Smoking.” The activity aimed to raise awareness among students and young adults about the physical, mental, and social consequences of smoking and vaping, while encouraging informed choices and a smoke-free, vape-free lifestyle through education, engagement, and proactive discussion. The said program was attended by participants from each department of the Lyceum of Aparri. The proponents of this meaningful initiative are the Senior Nightingales of Section B, who proudly call themselves Phagocytes, a name they have carried since their freshman year in 2022, symbolizing their role in defending and protecting health. Their collaboration, leadership, and dedication were evident throughout the seminar, from planning to execution, reflecting their readiness to serve as future nurses and advocates of public health. The campaign seminar was enriched by the presence of Dr. Casser John D. Aguinaldo, MD, whose expertise in public health and clinical medicine provided depth and clarity to the discussion. Through evidence-based insights and relatable clinical perspectives, he effectively addressed the short- and long-term health implications of smoking and vaping, dispelled common misconceptions, and emphasized the importance of prevention and early intervention. His engaging delivery empowered participants to view health advocacy not only as knowledge-sharing, but as a responsibility rooted in care and awareness. After the discussion proper, participants from each department were tasked to develop action plans tailored to their respective departments. These plans reflected the participants’ understanding of the seminar and their commitment to promoting anti-smoking and anti-vaping initiatives within their units. Among all the submissions, the Engineering Department ranked first and was recognized for presenting the best action plan. This initiative was made possible under the guidance of Mr. Daryl Sapp, RN, MSN, who has been an integral part of the Phagocytes’ journey long before this campaign. From their formative years as nursing students to their growth as senior Nightingales, he has remained a constant source of mentorship, direction, and encouragement. His unwavering presence and leadership have significantly shaped the group’s discipline, sense of advocacy, and commitment to service, making this endeavor a true reflection of the values he has consistently instilled.

“Mental health is not a luxury—it’s a priority.” The first day of College Day began with an inspiring symposium on Mental Health: Balancing Academic and Social Life in Campus. A reminder that success isn’t just about grades—it’s also about taking care of our minds and finding harmony in student life. The said symposium was graced by our speaker, Ms. Ivy M. Villena, RPm. She shared valuable insights on maintaining mental well-being amidst the pressures of academic life and social responsibilities. The talk focuses on promoting awareness and understanding of the importance of maintaining mental well-being among students. It emphasizes how academic pressures and social challenges can affect one’s mental health and highlights the need for balance, time management, and self-care. The discussion aims to encourage students to develop healthy coping strategies and foster supportive relationships that enhance both their academic performance and overall well-being. Balance your books, balance your life.
MAKE YOUR MARK: BEYOND LIMITS, BEYOND CARE. The College of Health, led by our dedicated Governor Steven Kyle Palapuz and our ever-supportive Dean Marybeth Magulod, together with the seniors and officers, visited the Missionaries of Charity Orphanage. This initiative was more than just an outreach — it was a moment of realization that even the smallest act can make a huge difference. In the innocent smiles of the children, they discovered the deeper meaning of compassion and the true essence of their chosen path. It reminded everyone that being part of the College of Health is not confined to classrooms or hospitals, but extends to serving others with empathy and love. This visit marked the end of the Health Day celebration and ended with acts of kindness. Truly, the College of Health leaves a lasting marks – Beyond Limit – Beyond Care!
