In most dimensions of earth, you can witness the wonders of beauty being brought by technology. These wonders basically are not directly parts of “Art’s Work” but outcomes of “Arts Gradual Inspiration”. These wonders being referred to are the infrastructures for transportation (roads, railroads, bridges, ports, airports), commerce (shopping malls), education (schools, universities), human settlements (large scale housing projects, water supply, sewage disposal), energy development (power stations, power lines), and agriculture (irrigation, farm drainage).

The different Civil Engineering works given are definitely built by licensed engineers who are indulged to the different field of specialization such as Structural Engineering, which scope of practice includes the calculation of loads and stresses on structures, strength of foundations and beams and determining whether or not a structure can function safely; Construction Engineering and Management, a field of engineering that deals with the effective planning and implementation of construction projects; Transportation Engineering, deals with the design and maintenance of transportation facilities such as highways and streets, ports and harbors, airfields, railroads and mass transit system; Water Resources Engineering, speaks of the design of water treatment plants, pumps systems and stations, distribution systems for drinking and non-drinking water, pipelines for collecting waste water and analysis of the floodplain or storm water drain system to prevent and control water damage. Geotechnical Engineering, a specialized field of civil engineering that involves soil evaluation to determine the suitability of a particular area for construction; and Environmental Engineering, deals with the design of systems and solutions to protect the environment.

Registered Engineers who are found to be in the different fields of specialization became successful in attaining their chosen career just perhaps of self-confidence, discipline and strong determination they employed as they were on their journey of reaching the juncture where they were being predestined to. As to the opinion and findings in researches of licensed Civil Engineers, not only from Philippines but also from other foreign countries, there are skills required just to succeed the course. First is the Mathematical Skills, it is the ability to compute and use different computational methods to solve a problem. Second is the Critical Thinking Skills, it is the used of logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions. Third is the Analytical Skills, these deals with the identification and analysis of product requirement to create design. Forth is the Complex Problem Skills, it is the identification of complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Fifth if the Graphical Skills, it is the ability to transform a design into an image. Sixth is the Judgement and Decision-Making Skills, it is the considering of the relative costs and benefits of potential action to choose the most appropriate one. The last but not the least is the Communication Skills, it is the ability to effectively relay information both orally and written formed. These skills could for sure deconstruct the abilities and capabilities of students who try to pursue the Civil Engineering Program.

Program Offerings

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE)

This historic event commemorated the entry of fourth-year Civil Engineering students into their professional careers, demonstrating their willingness to face the demands and responsibilities of the engineering field. Students wore their hard hats, pins, and vests with pride and achievement, demonstrating their willingness to assume the obligations of the profession.

Mock-board Examination was conducted on December 6 - 7, 2025

Congratulations to Engr. Angelica Rabina, BS in Civil Engineering and Engr. Kerby Macabangun, BS in Civil Engineering for successfully passing the November 2025 Civil Engineering Licensure Examination

Engineering Days

September 26-27, 2025

The Engineering Days is an annual event celebrated by the Engineering Department involving all the Civil Engineering students, faculty and staff, joined hands together to form togetherness, friendship and camaraderie. It is one of the most awaited celebrations of the year for it showcases various activities that could enhance skills, excavate talents, and develop hidden potentials of students that is essential for future work in the society as Civil Engineers.

The theme for this activity: “Enhancing the skills and talents of Future Civil Engineers of Lyceum of Aparri in the 21st”, aims to enhance creativity and analytical skills, problem solving, and team work through the different events such as Logo Design Making, Engineering Quiz Bee, Tower Making Contest, Amazing Race, and Different sport events which include Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, and Chess Tournament.

Participated the Bridge building and Mural painting competition during the celebration of “Aggao Nac Cagayan” June 17 - 19, 2025.

A 240 hours On-the-Job Training inside the campus and has lined-up activities (Construction of Lyceum of Aparri Projects) that will start from 8:00 in the morning and will end at 5:00 in the afternoon from Monday to Friday. The activities prepared are as follows: Masonry Works (CHB Making, CHB Laying, and plastering), Carpentry Works (Form Works and Frame Works), Steel Works (Steel Bars bending and tie wiring), this includes excavation and concrete pouring and labor works

The graduating students (BSCE 4) attended the annual Regional Civil Engineering Students Summit, participated by different schools offering civil engineering course in the region with the theme “Reinforcing Progress with Purpose: Answering Siera Madre’s Call to Strengthen Community Connection through Sustainable, Disaster-Resilient, and Equitable Infrastructure, Driving Innovation for SDC 9”. Connection through. Were students also participated different events like Bridge Building, Tower Making, Sports, and Socialization.
